Where your information travels at Loonpointplay

Revised 1 November 2026

The short version of our privacy story

Loonpointplay is a reading site with no accounts, no sign-up and no comment forms. We do not run analytics, and we carry no advertising trackers. The little information involved in visiting us is described below, in plain language, so you can see exactly where it goes.

Saved maps and your cookie choice stay with you

When you tap the heart on a game, your shortlist is saved in your own browser using localStorage. The same applies to your answer on the cookie notice. This information lives only on your device; it is never sent to us and we cannot see it.

Clearing your browser data, or the site data for loonpointplay.com, removes both the shortlist and your cookie choice. If you share a shortlist link, the list travels inside that link to whoever you send it to, and nowhere else.

Fonts arrive from Google Fonts

Our typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts. To deliver the font files, Google receives your IP address and basic details about your browser, as happens with any web request. Google handles that information under its own privacy policy. We receive nothing from this exchange beyond the fonts themselves.

When you write to the editors

If you email us at editors@loonpointplay.com, we receive your address and whatever you choose to tell us. We use it only to read and answer your message, and we keep the conversation only as long as we need to reply and follow up on any correction you raised.

We never add you to a mailing list, and we never share your message with anyone outside the editorial desk. If you would like an old exchange deleted, just ask.

Crossing over to a publisher’s map

Our play buttons open each game’s official site in a new tab. From that moment the game’s publisher collects whatever information its own site collects, under its own privacy policy. We suggest reading that policy, particularly before creating an account with any game.

Your rights under Canadian privacy law

We follow the principles of PIPEDA, Canada’s federal privacy law for the private sector. You may ask what personal information we hold about you, which in practice is limited to any emails you have sent, and you may ask us to correct or delete it.

If you feel we have not handled your information properly, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to raise a concern with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes and how to reach us

If the way Loonpointplay handles information ever changes, for instance if we add a new feature, we will update this page and its revision date before the change takes effect. Questions about anything here can go to editors@loonpointplay.com, and a real person on the desk will answer.
